DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IMITATION AND NATURAL PEARLS

NATURAL PEARLS : Have weight and are formed in layer like onion having calcium carbonate and other organic materials in them and they do not melt on heating

IMITATION PEARLS : Are very light weight and are machine made by using plastic and fibre. They have only single layer of emulsion coating which comes off on scratching and melt on heating
